Initial look inside Hayabusa2 sample chamber show dark black particles

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) opened the sample chamber from the re-entry capsule of the asteroid explorer “Hayabusa2” on December 14, 2020, and found dark black grain particles assumed to be from asteroid (162173) Ryugu outside of the main chamber attached to the sample catcher entrance. This image was taken with a scope camera by the curation and initial analysis team. More details are expected tomorrow.
